Formatting drives with WinXP

mangled

Senior member
How can I wipe out and reformat drives on my system with WinXP? Not the drive the OS is on, it's up and running fine. I have several other partitions I want to wipe out and format. Is that possible with the XP disc?

Also, I put XP on a 12gb partition of a 20gb drive. I didn't format the other 8gb partition and in "my computer" that 8gb partition doesn't show up. Probably cuz it's not formatted, right? How do I now format that so it shows up?

Thanks!

Admistrator Tools then Computer Management then disk managment and click on the drive you want and right click. If it will let you format the drive then that option will not be grayed out. Also open my computer and right click the drive for the format menu.

Admin Tools are defaulted to be in the Control Pannel - or Right click on "My Computer" and pick manage. or from any explorer window right click on "My Computer" and manage.
