is there anything that is like partition magic (but i dont want to pay that much) that will essentially let me delete partitions on my slave HDD???
 
Try BOOTITNG. You can try the full version for 30 days. Very cheap software. Comes with partitioning/drive imaging/boot loader in on tiny package. Very fast and stable software.
