formatting a cdrw

for some reason, i cant full or quick format my cdrw.
i've tried easy cd creator for xp, nero 5.5, cdr win4. im on winXP.

is it possible that i've accidentally finalized the cdrw? i thought even if i did finalized it, i can still format it to blank.
