Formatted SSD now HDD won't initialize

So I formatted my SSD that contained windows and it worked fine. I have 2 SSD's one for windows and one for games. And 2 HDD's. I got them all working but one HDD. It shows up in disk management and when I hit initialize it gives me either MBR or GPT. No matter what I choose it won't work. If I choose MBR it says cannot find the file specified and GPT says it's too small. My HDD's are 1TB each. I NEED the stuff on the drive.

Was the HDD that's not working sitting for a while unused, or has it always been connected and just stopped being recognized?

Usually when disk management asks if you want it to be GPT or MBR, it is saying there are no partitions on there and not formatted (i.e. not usable in Windows).
