Format to much?

Im just wondering, is it harmful to format a HD on a regular basis. I know its the fastest way to clear out some of the more annoying windows bugs, and clear out disk space, but is it harmful? I want to know about different intervals to, like once a month, once every other month, etc.

I don't imagine that it's harmful. when you format for the most part you are just creating a new FAT and doing a surface scan for defects.

I've found Win2K and XP to be pretty decent and not require the frequent re-installs that the Win9x line needed. Also, with Win9x formatting your whole drive to re-install the OS is IMHO a big waste of time. Just boot to DOS and deltree c:\windows and c:\progra~1 if you use Win9X .... no need to blast your own data and documents into never never land along with the OS.
