format/reinstall question

I have SATA drive and an IDE drive. If I format and reinstall XP on the SATA drive, nothing will be erased on my IDE drive and I will still be able to "see" it after the reinstall?

Yes, just make sure the IDE drive is unplugged while you format the SATA drive.
