so im tryin to format my spare 10gig hard disk thats curently running redhat,
i plug it in as a slave like i would normally do, windows detects it but when i go to "my computer" there is only a c: and not a d: ? whats the deal!!?

if someone could help it would be much apreciated, im currently totaly out of space on my 120gig.. in fact just over 3megs hahah..

XP: I think you have to login as an administrator (because none of us use admin accounts for day to day stuff, that's just stupid) -> go into control panel -> Administrative tools -> computer management. From there, select disk management. IIRC, the rest is pretty self explanatory, but I can't help since I don't have administrator rights. 😉

oookkaayy so im in the disk management window, not that its not self explanatory but its not really explaining itself to me 😛 ,, lol
i see the my c partition and the one i want to access but it has no lettering, healthy unknown partition,, im lost

i dont know if i did the right thing but i deleted the partition
meh,, well se were this takes me

If there is a partition there (THAT YOU DON'T WANT), I think you right click on it and look at the options there. If it's considered free space, right click on it and look at the options you're giving. Really though, I don't have access to that info since I don't have administrator access to a windows computer.
