Format Cluster Vs Nand Block Size for the 840 Pro 256

Series 840 PRO 256 GB:
NAND erase block size: 1024kb
NAND page size: 8kb
so 1024/8 = 128 pages per block.

What Cluster Sizes for my Partitions?

1024kb looks Optimum for filling Pages but then again 512Kb's broke the record. Could 512Kb's leave 1/2 pages?

If 512Kb's are Good for the OS NTFS Partition would not 1024 be about Ideal if you where interacting with HDD's in RAID-0, especially if you where working with Large Video Files.

I got my 840 Pro Partitioned as such: D : "BOOT" 1GB Primary ACTIVE Fat32 Partition 512Kb Clusters. Yeh! I Know it's BIG but I have my DOS reasons - LOL - C: "Win7" OS 60GB Logical within Extended NTFS Partition with 512Kb Clusters and an other 177GB F: "PLAYGROUND" NTFS Logical Partition with 512KB Clusters. Don't ask me about E: BUFFER an 100GB OutSide Edge RAID-0 Mechanical HDD Partition (Believe there is very little, if any, Writes to this SSD other then the Free Interactive PLAYGROUND Partition which I can use at my discretion). I got 16 GB's of Samsung MV-3V4G3D-US_DDR3 running at 1866Mhz, 1.38v, 9-9-9-24 1T and I've never used more then 2GB's of it - Would like to rid App Cashes on the Raid-0 BUFFER Partition to a Ram Drive - Except I've never done it. Another project - Of course more Partitioning, Building Volumes and Assigning Drive Letters but NO Re-Booting with EFI Diskpart.

HERE'S a TIP: Ever get the ERROR on a DeskTop after ReBooting or Dumping an Image when you have totally Fuggled things: "SERVER EXECUTION FAILED" means your MS and I'll say it again your MS "My Documents" are NOT Pathed or Recognized by the Registry. How do you Navigate, Copy & Paste when the DeskTop is DEAD. NOTEPAD has a BROWSER (No need to LogOn as a New User, even if you could) - Do what you will with "SAVE AS"; that is, Copy and Paste that STUPID "My Documents" to a Location or onto every partition you made and hit the location where MS wants it to be - WOLLA - No need to Re-Install Win - BIG Issue with all us Geek's whom want NO Fragging on a Mechanical HDD or Writes to a SSD in this case - Enter Administrative Tools and Assign Drive Letters and ReBoot - A lot of F3`s in RegEdit if you have to re-asign the Partition location, NO Networking or Shared Files - KILL the NetWorking and shared MPlayer CRAP. I thoroughly HATE ``My Documents`` and MPlayer; as if , I don`t know where my Files are.

Samsung seems to hold the record for 512KB Clusters - Yet would it not seem LOGICAL ;o) that the PLAYGROUND NTFS Partition be Formatted with 1024 Clusters to interact with Mechanical HDD's in Raid-0 which would be appropriately Formatted NTFS 1024KB when working with Large Video Files.

Am I out To Lunch or What - Tell me and I'll do it - Haven't Crashed since Win95A when I played with DX and ran from MS with 95B.

Does anyone want Win3.1 w/ie3.1 over DOS 6.5 active SetUp in ZIP - Lots of Games, PackMan - Sky Roads ...etc - Don't think it's over 7MB's. Humm - If I recall, it's supports both 8 & 16-bit Fat - Hey! We can format Fat - I wonder, Win3.1 on an SSD with a I7 2700K - Too many cores - But we can beat the Fat 32GB Volume Limit but it isn't DOS - LOVE RAW DOS NOT CMD. H@ll even DOS 5 can bust an rebuild an SSD with FDisk.

It's unbelievable, with today's Technology, that a 30 year old 1.32MB DOS App named GHOST can keep a Win7 x64-Bit SP1 OS alive today.
