Form Factor

Depends on the case dimensions, coolers, and airflow. The size of the board doesn't particularly matter, since the board itself isn't dissipating heat.
 
mATX is def not hotter, I like them better (or even an itx) because I don't have a need for all those extra PCIe slots, I've never run more than 2 cards now that most everything is built in like LAn/Sound/etc
 
I have a mini-itx board and case, stuffed with a full sized Radeon dual-slot GPU, 750w PSU, 16GB of ram, an optical drive + 3.5" card reader, 2x HDD's and 2x SSD's...,.....

with 2x 120mm + 2x 80mm fans & stock HS/F on the cpu, I rarely see temps above 46C....

Heat, hot, hotter...whahdatbe ? 🙂
