forks and spoons come out of base jumper's chute

Actually, during WWII both Russia and Germany utilized paratroopers that jumped without chutes. See: The First and Worst.

Apparently, the technique was to get the aircraft to fly as low and slow as possible and then jump into deep snow.

Of course, it was considered bad form to hit a buried fence post.

Evidently, the muttering at the end of the video is his "buddy", saying, "Damn, I hope he died from that!" :sneaky:

Base jumpers are, IMHO, a special type of stupid. 🙄

seen that video and was amazed he lived. Not to mention being able to walk again after 3 months? fuck.

i don't get base jumping. or hell jumping from a plane (though i do admit i want to try it). My dad was a paratrooper in Vietnam. He said he loved it. there is nothing like floating back down safely.

What I think is most messed up about the video is his friend doesn't react at all...like oh well...there goes another.

Agreed

That's just bizarre, but understandable since it's Russia and all.

I agree, it was bizarre how the camera man was all like "eh, all good".

I guess it's not like he could quickly get down to him (unless he base jumped himself), but still, his lack of reaction verbally was the strangest thing.

Actually, the cameraman's reaction (after what I can only assume was a long moment of shock), was a single word ("Pizdets!"), which is best translated in English by the colloquial "F*ck!"

well, me personally, im just glad the guy with the camera did a good job and we all got to see what death is like without having to feel too guilty.
