Ugh. So I'm filling out this huge security clearance form, and I come across the question asking for my Selective Service number. I figure no problem, and go look it up online. Hmm, not registered. Then I try by phone, with the same result. Decided to register online, and got my number in a few seconds.
I'm 23, and I'm wondering how the hell this happened. This stuff is all over driver's license forms, and sometimes employment applications. The only two explanations I can think of are:
1.) I turned 18 during finals' week at school. Maybe I just forgot.
2.) The DMV, being the morons that they can be, didn't send in my information. I specifically asked them to change my address on my last license form, and they didn't.
So now I'm wondering what happens. Is this really bad, bad, or not a problem now that I'm registered? How does this affect my security clearance application?
