Forgot restriction passcode on 3GS

My niece was playing with the 3GS and somehow she managed to set a restriction passcode on the phone! 😱😀

Now the camera icon is gone and we can't access it via the home button double click. I googled and found a solution here http://www.zimbio.com/iPhone+3G/articles/2061/Forgotten+Restrictions+Passcode+iPhone+3G (scroll to first comment) but this doesn't work for my 3GS. I now have 3 failed restriction passcode attempts.

What happens if I entered the wrong restriction passcode 10 times in a row? Is there someway to reset it?

LOL, nm, my wife somehow guessed the correct code... it was 6666!

New question, is there a way to lock the kids out of the settings page?

You can't lock them out of the Settings Page, but you can set up a passcode for the parental codes and lock stuff out from there I htink.

Yeah, don't give the phone to kids who don't know how to use it properly.

My kids were not allowed to play with my iPhone unsupervised until they could show me that they knew what they were and were not allowed to do. They also know that if they screw anything up by doing something they were not allowed to do, they will not get to play on the phone again.

Your niece should be taught that, if she ends up somewhere "accidentally", she should stop what she is doing, not try to fix it herself and immediately give the phone to an adult.
