My sister has forgotten the password to her computer (XP). Is there a way to resest the password or logon in without the password? Perhaps something in the BIOs? or would I just have to reinstall everything...
If you did not set a Password on the XP Built in Admin Account or if there is another account
with Admin Privileges you are all set
Try F8 on boot up to get into Safe Mode .. the login in should be: Administrator ... the password
should be blank .. once you get in, you can reset the password thru User Accounts or thru the
Run Command: Control userpaswords2 ... if you can't login in safe mode you will need an
NT Password Reset Disk ... you can google for it.
exactly what i was thinking. remeber that link from once when i had to recover my sister's pasword. if the admin account doesn't exist, use a linux boot cd that changes the password.
