Forgot my Truecrypt PW...whoops

Well...looks like I've got an SSD that's a brick now lol. I've been using TrueCrypt for months, usually entering the pw twice per day. turned it on earlier and realized I can't remember what the pw is for some reason. I remember most of it, but I can't remember if certain parts are capitalized or not, and the order of a couple characters. I tried writing down all the combinations possible, but only one of them looks even vaguely correct, and that one's not working. Thought maybe it was corrupted, so i loaded my rescue disc. No go. Anyone got a 60G SSD for sale? I need a new system drive haha

Get as drunk as you were when you made the password, and it will come back to you. Or, you'll be drunk and not care anymore.

Yes you should be able to wipe/reformat it. but that sucks!! keep trying you may get it. i hope you had backups of the files.

You could try to restore an older Truecrypt's volume header over the new one, it will reset the password to the old one without touching the files inside the container.
If you have not an older header you have only the option to try to guess it or reformat the drive.
Next time you could create the volume with a simple password you are sure to remember, save the header and then change the password, following instructions in TC.
