Forgot my OfficeMax.com username :(

I tried 3 different usernames.

Haven't made a purchase for quite some time, maybe I've been de-activated 🙁

I don't know about a CSR, but their web techs can do it if so ordered, which is unlikely.

This is why I hate creating any new web merchant accounts. If I don't already shop at a merchant, I'm extremely unlikely to sign up for an account just to whore a hot deal, unlike popular buy.com practices circa 2000. 😀 Ideally, I like simple checkout systems that do NOT require user registration. 🙂

I never write down the info anymore, and am at least a bit likely to forget the password if I don't shop there again.

My dad's account at Staples.com was erased (from the DB). Interestingly, his previous Staples.com purchase wasn't that ancient, maybe a year old or so?

I don't think Staples or OMax (or even OD) would ever delete any of my account records. 😉 😱

I agree with you manly.

If they insist on a username, I prefer e-mail addresses which are easier to recall than usernames.

CompUSA's return policy blows, but their online shopping software doesn't require registration if you don't want it. It's neat.

use the same username/password for all your registrations.

I only use one username or variation of, and two or three different passwords.
