I was a member of Anadtech way back in the early 2000's in the heady days of overclocking. Since then, I forgot my login stuff and had to start again. Nostalgia.

I digress

Bored with the whole i3 i5 i7 A6 A8 A10 / clocking / not clocking, I went back to a shuttle I had. A G31 chipset SG31G2.
Yes I know it's knocking on, but you know what it's like when you get a project (!)
I wanted to turn it into a little media centre for the kids ..... but ..... it becomes an obsession and the money disappears, because it's an obsession, and you could have easily bought an Android M8 box ....... but it's not the point.

Stop digressing.

Right. The ram (DDR2 - how expensive these days?) upgrade to 4gb - fine
WI-FI card added - fine
771 mod to accept a Xeon Quad L5420 (50w)- fine
Happy days

(Here's the point)
Graphics card.
In there is a Radeon HD2400. It's going because I need an HDMI card.
Can I drop in a NVS295? It has 2 HDMI's. But I have found that the highest
My other obscure problem is the audio. How will I pass the audio through the graphics card to the TV? Windows option? Or can the NVS run the audio?

Thanks in advance and nice to see you all again

hi tential

Does windows automatically pass the audio through the graphics card?
Does the card pass the audio via it's drivers and own hardware?
Do I have to change any sound settings in windows?

Been doing a lot of searching but I can't seem to find an answer along my lines

The drivers can pass LPCM audio through HDMI from the video card. You just need to tell windows via the sound control panel that you want your video card to handle audio and tell it if you are doing 5.1 or what.

It's much simpler than you're making it out to be I'll tell you that. I exclusively use HDMI (I don't own monitors only HDTVs) and have hooked up computers/laptops to HDTVs many times. When you plug it in, it automatically works...

You can do more configuration afterwards after that if you want, but when you plug a PC into a HDTV it'll automatically transfer audio.

This is one of those situations where I'd tell you you're looking too far into things.
