Forget writing letters

The newest way to send someone a message in a bottle is putting a USB pen drive in the bottle and tossing it into the sea. Everything from videos, loveletters, photos, and even entire websites can be saved to these things.

Stay tuned! 😀

have you done this?

also, wasn't the point of the letter in a bottle due to the fact that you were stranded on an island or somethign with now means of escape? that was the only way to get a message out for help. not sure too many people would be able to use a usb key drive without a computer or power...

And if one of them doesn't wash up on a beach somewhere for 40 years or more, what are they going to read it with?

That's the sad thing about digital technology. If you don't keep re-saving content to new media and formats, it will be lost forever.

This is a situation where paper > electronic.

Oh believe me any authority CAN read it. Who do you think buys those 8 track decks for 10X MSRP?

Anyways, the point is one can cram a ton of info in the bottle. The drive can survive a LOT of abuse. Of course if the bottle breaks - then again paper would be no good in time too.

I'd format it and keep it if I found it!

Can you imagine Rossman sending one out, his would only be loaded with hot deals and webhosting info and no info on his whereabouts 😀!
