I only had the chance to take one screen shot, but so far, i'm thinking that this is almost on the same level as Halo (from what i've seen, since i don't have an Xbox)

Here's the shot

The brush and shrubbery look amazing, as do the weapons. The flak cannon....w000, gotta love how each piece of flak is individually rendered and bounce on their own free will. One gripe i have is with the Link gun. In secondary mode, it's "lightning" effect TOTALLY screws up your vision when someone has it on you. It's a total disadvantage. The second gripe concerns gibs....WHERE ARE THEY?! Most of the time when someone dies, they just kinda stand there, in a state of stasis.

new pic

The gun didn't want to show up in the second one, i guess i can't fire while taking a shot :disgust:

Let's just say that the electric Donkey is a pain in the ass to set up, let alone get working well. But once it's up, it won't be hard to find.

It looks much nicer on the PC at a higher rez, from what I've seen. ;) Beautiful game none the less.

Looks good, we have to wait and see how well interaction with the environment is though. So far nothing has come close to halo in terms of debris and water.

Did you install the Multiplayer patch? I hear it disables the physics engine (or whatever fancy name they have for it). I've seen a few people die and they fall and slide down the steps, etc. Pretty cool.

It disables the physics? Don't you mean it ENABLES it? (if bodies fall and stuff like that) But anyways, nope, i haven't, i will try right now!! Prolly throw in a few more screen shots as well.

No, that's not what I was saying. I was asking if you had installed the patch and if maybe that is why you aren't seeing the physics. By default it was there, the physics. After I installed the patch the players just stood there when they died. I read something about it as well. I'll see if I can dig up the link.

He may have the leaked demo which is 200mb or so but there is a beta build out that is a womping 2GB(900mb if you find it compressed). Which has alot more levels in it. I don't have it but have seen it in action and although the graphics are killer I don't like the map designs as much as I did UT.

UT2003 looks quite good. Probably the best looking FPS game that I've seen yet. Indoor and outdoor are both so good.

Those pics don't do it justice, trust me. :) And the "players just stand there after dying" problem is just in the leak. I'm 100% sure it will not be a problem in the demo and the full game.

As for gibs, it isn't too hard to gib someone, but I agree it isn't quite as rewarding as in UT. Still, in ut2k3 you can blow of arms, etc. :D

I can't wait to try the demo and see the refined Karma (physics) Engine and optimized performance.

Neither can I. Go check out the ut2k3 forums and you'll find thousands of others who are getting pretty antsy with all the delays. Hopefully we'll get it soon.

I love the weather effects more than anything. This is the first time I have seen them in a FPS. To bad they don't come and go like real life but at least putting them in there is a start. Like the Electric Field it is raining if you walk out into the open but if there is a roof over you it stops. Very cool stuff now if there was some lighting effect in the background that would rock.

I have the 900 meg version, but i haven't had a chance to look through all of the levels. So far, the level design has been a bit strange. First of all, i've never seen any levels designed like the map in the first screen shot. It was pretty amazing, really different, and it does work. But in the second shot, that map just DOES NOT work at all. Maybe it was because i played bots, but still, it wasn't very functional.

In my estimation we're still more than two weeks away from shipping the demo

Thats probably true. I don't know if you've followed the whole ordeal though, because mark rein has been saying the demo is going to come in 2 weeks for several months. When he says more than two weeks that probably means a really long time.
