Reggae! It is the most simple music genre ever. It rarely goes out of a time signature of 4/4 (4 beats a measure) and has usually one background instrumental riff or vibe. I understand it is feel good music, but to me it sounds like crap...

I can't find any talent needed to produce reggae, the vocals are just melodic chant if you will.

Try to explain to me why this is better than rap or anything else.
No offense intended, I may just be ignorant, after all it is an opinion.

it's reggae. not ragae or raggae. :p

and i like emo and liken it often to rock (who can hate rock?), can tolerate rap, and can even tolerate reggae.

so there. :)

You ever heard Bob Marley.

Yes I have. And after reading several articles and a biography about him, it seems to me that he was more popular for his views than his actual music.

I don't see any talent he had over any other musician.

I have. I actually was sorting through my cd's and found his greatest hits. I must have gotten it as a present or something. Anyway after listening to the greatest of the genre, I felt like writing this little rant. I liked some of the lyrics, but the music was unpleasant to me.

are you stupid? I'm a drummer and reggae is probably one of the hardest styles of music to play.

No, I am not stupid. You must be an awful drummer to consider a 4/4 beat terrible. The genre does have some hard conga and marumba riffs, but in general the music is very slow tempo (under 100 bpm) which translates into a bunch of high hat and bass drum (I have drummed for 7 years, played bass for 10).

Is that new age reggae? Anyway, I did enjoy hearing the drum beat; very consistant and at a good volume. I take back about you being bad at drums, but I still think it is generally at the lower end of talent pools when it comes to drumming. Anyways, thanks for the new perspective.
