I ordered 3 last week at $99. Dam. Well is this hot or not?? Glad im up at 2am.

ECS+DURON 1 gig

Yeah i know i didnt include the shipping price. I always order over $500 to get free shipping. I checked shipping was $6.13 for a single board combo. I have never had to wait over 3 days for ground. And they usually ship the same day. If i pick 2 day and order in the morning i usually get stuff from them next day. Guess it depends where you are

Yes they are both Retail. CPU is Boxed, with heatsink fan 3 year warranty.

ECS board is cheap but very stable. I've used this in over 50 computers, I have a small computer business. and have bought probably half of these through Outpost.

I had one board that i returned two weeks ago out of all of them. Worked when i got it, sold it to a friend. Who likes to tinker. Died a week later. Outpost took it back no problems

So for those that ordered this previously, did Outpost ship you a 1gig chip or a 950mhz chip?

Yeah I noticed that it says 950 and 1GZ on the same page. I just think they haven't updated the page to make it say 1GZ. Outpost always seems to be about $10 to $20 more than Fry's on this combo, I hope that means Fry's will now offer it for $60.

I ordered 3 of these 1 gig combo's last week and i got 1 gig chips. And i ordered from the same link. I ordered over 10 of the 950 combo's in the past. I never had a problem with outpost shipping the wrong stuff.

Were people getting the wrong chips when they ordered 1 gig's i assume??

That's the same link i used last week. It says 950 in the details. But the headline is 1 gig. Guess someone was just lazy with the cut and paste. But when i ordered last week. My confirmation email that came in 5 minutes said 1 giger's. And that's what i got.

I have a small computer business, that's why i order so many. I get chips and mb's from the wholsale distributors but cant get them this cheap. Outpost must of hijacked some trucks on this one.

It says one per household. But i just ordered 6 of them plus a set of the Creative slim speakers to get it over $500. Just to get the free shipping. Dam im a whore.

I'm using this MB from the computer I'm typing on now...no problems here. With the volume of these boards sold (400+ reviews at NewEgg even) there are sure to be some problems. And there might be some quirks with the board in some cases but it works great for a 2nd or 3rd computer..I'm using it as a server.

I don't know what you are talking about. This motherboard is great. I am using it right now. Please don't buy this combo if you are a newbie. This motherboard need decent power supply but otherwise it works great. I have had no problems with it. Four of my friends have it too and they have no problems.

This board is frickin awsome. Between me, my friends, and family, I've set up 5 of these boards with little-to-no problems. It does have its quirks (like the one connector you have to change for the LED), but is great for those on a budget especially because of the SDRAM/DDR slots. As far as the power, I installed this board on the Newegg Maxtop cool-case with 350watt all the way down to the compgeeks cheapo Genica with the 250 watt (w/ a Duron 850). For anyone just getting into this board the first time, make sure to reference the OCworkbench forums for a LENGTHY FAQ and help with this board. BTW: I just ordered another one. :)
Thanx tedinde1 for spending more of my money :)

<< chrap upgrade indead. But I am not sure I will risk a ECS MB. >>

I've had the K7S5A for awhile now, good solid board, perhaps the only thing I don't like about it is the lack of overclocking ability. (has anyone figured out how to o/c with these things really well?). I definitely think this is a great deal, if i didnt have so many things to sell already i would pick this up and build another computer.

Fianlly Outpost puts Fry's deal on . Too bad the Outpost warranty policy is so screwy ( a real gamble with this iffy motherboard ). However at this price , it's probaly work the risk .

The $79 price doesn't sound that great. There are 8 places on pricewatch.com selling the MB for $50 or less and 3 places selling the 1GHz Duron for $35. So you can get this combo for $85 plus shipping. With this Outpost deal you save $6 and some shipping. Although this is a good deal, it doesn't really seem that hot. Sorry.

<< Is this a retail or OEM CPU? >>

from outpost website:

AMD Duron 950 MHz Boxed CPU w/Fan & 3Yr Warranty

this should mean that it is retail

Retails usually come with the 3 yr warranty and fan and heatsink

Sweet deal :)

This is WAY cheaper than my business gets them from the distributors... I've had good and bad luck with this board so far. It is my main AMD board, because of the price and the features that can't be beat. Out of every 100 or so I assemble, maybe 1 or 2 have a boot problem or something, sometimes fixable, sometimes not...

I think I'll pick up a ... few ;)

They don't rip you off on shipping either, which is nice.
