Give it a couple years and they'll be on sale for $599 on Black Friday and people will be killing each other for it. Wait a little more and it will be on sale randomly later in the year for $399.

I still have a plasma downstairs (37" I think?) as the main TV... I don't even know if it supports 720p let alone 1080.

Maybe someday I'll care enough - whenever we get a new home and there is space enough for a real entertainment room.

Any plasma has to be at least 720p.

Not sure what the point of an 8k TV is. Maybe so you can sit at arm's length from your 100" TV?

4K already makes it where you can set pretty close to a very large TV for most rooms.

I'm still rocking my 65" Panny VT60 plasma. Only the most expensive 4K's and OLED's can dare to compare with it, even today.
