While watching Brian Cox's, "Wonders of the Solar System", I realized something.

Nergul, was the original name given to the astral body in the Babylonian astral-theological system. This was later changed by the Romans to Mars. Mars, also the Roman god of war, is closely associated with the Latin term, Mors, which is the personification of death.

We recently discovered overwhelming evidence of water on Mars, which will likely lead to there having been life on the planet at some point and it is now dead.

It was named after Mars, god or war, since it's red like blood.

NASA should simply send an unmanned probe to Mars containing a well-sealed, well-protected capsule containing a check for $1,000,000,[insert your favorite number of zeroes here], payable to bearer. The first person who manages to get there and collect it gets to keep it
