I put my grill on top of a cutting board and put that on top of the stove and turn on the hood fan.
i hope your hood fan actually goes outside, then. most hood fans i've seen just blow the air out through the top of the front edge of the hood. i've never understood the point in that...

It does pass through a filter. Not sure how much good it does though.

i forgot about that. mine has a wire mesh filter. maybe it's just a grease catcher? i don't use it much. if i make anything greasy, usually it's in the oven, foreman grill, or deep fryer 🙂

Mine is covered in grease, so perhaps it is to catch grease.

Yes I do, but I do it outside so that my house doesn't smell so good that I'm hungry all the time. Just cook some more inside and let the smells take over, you'll like it after a while.

I know a few upperclass Indian families who have second kitchens isolated from the house. Some have attached rooms, some have little kitchen houses in the backyard.

How do you keep the non stick surface from peeling? Just wipe with paper towel and avoid contact with water?

jst hose it off while it's still warm... stuff sticks less... water won't hurt it... i had the xlarge one and it was a pain to clean (wouldn't fit in sink to hose off) and then got the removable late one for xmas... problem with the removable plate one is it isn't as big; doesn't get as hot; the raw alum on the backside of the plates gets chalky (black chalky) whne u put it in the dishwasher... but the nonstick is holding up fine... they make a cute little ribbed sponge for the thing that actually works pretty well, but i usually just use a soft veggie brush on the plates...

It's vented to outside the house.

I've never encountered a stink with my Foreman grill... we used it twice this week, once for burgers and again for chicken, and neither time did anything smell strange. WTF are you cooking with it?

I've never had to use the hood or open a window to cook with it... i dont know what the fsck you guys are doing with yours.

...casio thinks "hmmm... clean it... hmmm... maybe i might try that at some point... either that or find another way to have grilled kimchee..."...
