I'm sorry, but I don't have much sympathy for these foreigners. They should know better. Thai jails are no joke, and you should ALWAYS have respect for the customs and laws when in another country. Especially when in SE ASIA When I lived in Bangkok I tried my best to follow their customs.

My guess is they'll get a few months behind bars. They'll want to make an example for others vacationing in Thailand. Follow our rules or else. It's no joke though. Even a few months in a Thai prison would be awful.

What assholes. I honestly don't know what an appropriate punishment is, but I have little sympathy for them at this point.

Why would anyone visit another country to vandalize it? I can't wrap my head around that. It's so random, pointless, and stupid.

She spray painted as well, though to a lesser extent.

Sounds like this will be a nice, painful lesson. I don't have any sympathy for them, especially being drunk.

The Important point to me about this thread is did you make these yourself and if so what are the recipes.

I tweaked this reciped a little, but not much . I added about a half tbsp more fish sauce and palm sugar. I'd recommend a good vietnamese fish sauce as it makes a difference. I had run out of galanagal so I used ginger. I buy cilantro by the bunch and keep the roots for the freezer. No kaffir limes so I use the leaves instead. All the herbals freeze well.

I think it works well:

Edited because the link didn't take. Likely operator error ;)

It's an interesting thing I've discovered. When I associate with others who love to cook, educated UK people seem to have a far better grasp of many Asian foods such as Indian and Thai than their US equivalent.

Indian and Thai food is massively popular in the UK. I live in a small village and there's an Indian take away and until recently a Thai restaurant (which closed down but the cooks moved to the local pub).
