Foreign transaction fees

So why do WAMU charge foreign transaction fees if you use their stupid MasterCard ATM card? It's 1% the amount purchased, I've never seen any credit cards charge foreign transaction fees, what give WAMU that precedence?

I just noticed them now ...

So I wrote to them asking where it is anywhere on papers that authorized them to charge that... crickets...
