Does anyone know of any good sci-fi that has originated in countries other than the US, UK or Japan/China/Korea? Especially books and movies.

I was noticing that Brazil has a film industry, and didn't notice anything sci-fi, so was curious in general.

Gerard Klein, France - The Overlords of War
Simply the best time travel story I've ever read.

Japan has a lot of scifi Anime.

I like lots of anime. Watched Spice and Wolf, Bleach, and a bunch more.

Speaking of Bleach, Netflix streams it but it's subtitled, if I were to have them ship the DVD version does it have English dub?

Not sci-fi but Night Watch and Day Watch are awesome Russian current day horror/fantasy movies. (Night Watch, Day Watch, Twilight Watch, and Last Watch are the books).

Stalker is also a good Russian sci-fi-sh film. (Roadside Picnic is the book)

There are also books that these movies are based off of.
