makes sense since Bush doesnt realy like all that international bit about treaties and cooperation

actually bush's point was they need to enforce what they sign, but i guess it's better to let tens of thousands starve and die so france germany and russia can get their money.

kerry once called turning over control of the US military over to the UN. for an even more prolific waffler than clinton, i wonder what his real position is?
ABM treaty
Landmines treaty
Kyoto treaty
ICC treaty
Biological Weapons Convention
Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty
Small-Arms Treaty

just whats on top of my mind, I'm sure there are more

Didn't the US break out of the ABM Treaty through an exit clause? Kyoto was never signed and neither was the ICC right?

What's the point in listing these?
these are treaties that nearly all of the western world and more wanted to get signed the way they were, Bush has pulled out of a few, refused to sign a few and watered down at least one so it isnt realy effective at all.
What major international treaty has Bush signed since he became president?
In terms of international treaties then bush has major phobia against them, and thats what other leaders of the world realy dont like about Bush. If the US presidency wants to be called the leader of the free world and whatnot then it must lead by an example, not like this, right now the situation creates just more of a problem than you can imagine.

There is more to the world than just the western world.

I don't understand...you reponsed to a post saying that Bush enforces what he signs...then you reply with a list of treaties or what not of things that he didn't sign mostly in the first place. I don't like Bush, but you're wrong here or somewhat off topic, IMO.

Then you talk about how the US wants to be called the 'leader of the free world', yet you seem to imply that a leader should be a follower instead.

Lets get real people if france wants BUSH out is that not a great reason to make sure he gets in again. They see kerry as weak period.

Most european are more 'liberal' than the Democrats, so it's not really a strange thing that we like the democratic president candidates better. But we also know that it's up to the US citizen to decide and that they should follow their heart or head or whichever makes the best decisions.

read this!

apparently Kerry's calender doesn't support the "fact" that "foreign leaders" have told him eye to eye that he should be president...

best part of the article:

Republicans have begun calling Mr. Kerry the "international man of mystery," and said his statements go even beyond those of former Vice President Al Gore, who was besieged by stories that he lied or exaggerated throughout the 2000 presidential campaign.

indeed, theres a reason clinton didn't get rid of landmines, and didn't run with kyoto. euros living in their island of peace are a little deluded about the real world. they have the luxury of yapping about landmines since they don't need em. i don't see euros volunteering say half a million troops to take the place of landmines in korea. it would be a very good solution, but euros don't put their money where their mouths are. lefty europeans need to sh*t up on this sh*t, just a clue, u yap your mouth and make moderate democrats look more left then he is, its not helping.

I don't know what foreign leaders Senator Kerry is talking about. It's an easy charge, an easy assertion to make. But if he feels it is that important an assertion to make, he ought to list some names," Powell said. "If he can't list names, then perhaps he should find something else to talk about."
