I figure a dime works very good as a rubber cap to prevent extra air being pulled into cylinder 1 and cause a misfire
Edit: Backstory, my engine started to misfire Tuesday, so I took it to have a diag done. Was told I had a bad gasket on cylinder one on the intake manifold (was good) but where the dime is in the picture is supposed to be a rubber cap that is supposed to prevent extra air from being pulled into cylinder 1 because there is a pivot point for the 4 individual butterflies that control the flow of air into each cylinder. It happened to break loose and ford told me that they don't sell a rubber cap for it and I have to replace the entire intake manifold for $190. I feel that $.10 is a much better deal.
