Ford Ranger Head Unit Woes

Looking for troubleshooting before bringing this into the shop.

My 2019 Ford Ranger head unit started behaving strangely about a month ago. At first, while connected via bluetooth, the playlist would randomly stop. Still connected, but couldn't get the audio to resume. At first, turning the truck off and on would fix it.

Progressively, things have completely fallen apart. It got to a point where the head unit would switch from whatever input I was on to the default 1270AM radio station, and no amount of button pushing or turning it off and on would fix it. Creepily, even turning off the head unit didn't work; it would turn itself back on to 1270AM, at low volume, no matter what I did.

Now, the head unit is off and won't turn back on. Can't get to settings, anything to reset it, nothing.

Advice?

Get a new HU and upgrade to an Android based one. Though it might be under warranty and replaced for free.
Appreciate that. You have a recommendation for one? Installation looks doable at home, right?

Vehicle has 70k on it; I think it's all out of warranty.

I have an Audi so, it's a bit different but, I picked on up for more performance after they cut their agreement to provide 3G / google maps and generally just sluggish.

Your best bet though is to shop around on AliExpress as it will be cheaper but just takes a bit longer to show up.

I did my own and coupled the connectors into the OEM wiring harnesses instead of adding more clutter with what came in the box. I needed some fakra splitters to do it and ripped the dash apart to get to one of the couplers so it took a bit longer to do. If you have a 1 for 1 swap out it might take 10 minutes to pull the old and put the new one in. Audi's are a real PITA to deal with on some things. Everything is tight and confined in fitment of everything.
