Ford Focus guys.. I need the pin out for the Focus Audio system.

Is it Roger or Quixstar who are ford mechanics.

I need the 2000 Ford cd player pin out (cables on the back) and the 2003 Ford Blapunkt Pin out for the MP3/Cd player.

I got mine today and i need to figure out what goes where....

I will try my local ford dealer tommorow but i doubt they can help.

Is your original a standard unit or the Sony subwoofer unit?

I edited the 1st post to include wire colors of the grey connector and the rest of the wires on 2188C.

OK for some dumb reason the Ford DVD has a separate section for the original connector for speakers..

Connector 442 YE

Pin 1. WH/BK Sensor signal
Pin 2. GY/BK Signal 2 (Y-direction, reverse, downward)
Pin 3. WT/VT or WT/GN Sensor signal
Pin 4. GY/WT Signal 2 (Y-direction, reverse, downward)
Pin 5. SH/RD Sensor signal
Pin 6. GY/RD Signal 2 (Y-direction, reverse, downward)
Pin 7. WH Sensor signal
Pin 8. GY Signal 2 (Y-direction, reverse, downward)

I hope you can make heads or tails from that. 🙂

Thanks i will attempt to..

if I need futher help will let ya know..

I think the grey connector is easy to install.. the black one shold be okay to fix.. the yellow one for the subwoofter.. now that one I am sure i am going to have to get a subwoofer installed. Looks like this mp3 player came from a car that had a subwoofer.. those pins are connected.

I will most likely toss it to a audio installer along with the info of the pins and colors and let him deal with it .. that is only after i give up trying to get it up myself.

Why would you bother using the Ford unit and go through all this trouble? If you take it to an installer you might as well just buy aftermarket and do it yourself.

I have my aftermarket Aiwa CDC-MP3 player on me.. I used it on my old tercel and i still have the unit sitting in a box.

The reason i wanted the ford one is so the interior fen shui does not get affected by an aftermarket unit. Plus this one has RDS (radio data service and stuff - and i can install an European Nav unit on to it later if i want)

Oliver (nutbucket) do you know a good Audio installer place or you want to help me out with this bro?

Did you get it installed yet? I got your PM today, 12-24. If not, LMK and I'll ask the radio shop if they have any kind of adaptor cable. We don't service radios at all, other than swapping them out.
All I can do from home is what Mastertech already did, provide the schematic.

i just got the drive yesterday i will install it (attmpt to do so) sometime after christmas.

I think the schematics will help a lot... not sure if there is an adaptor but lets see what comes of things.

If you have a complete wiring diagram for both audio systems (the one in your focus and the one for the car that mp3 deck came from) then i'll help you with the wiring. By the sounds of it, the setup the mp3 deck came from has seperate amps or something. I hate stock audio systems😛

I have teh wiriing diagram now..

thanks to the ppl here .. It doesnt have a seperate amp.. however I beleive my car does have an amp under the dash (from what I was told when i bought it). You have heard teh sound, its powerful.

Anyway I got the wiring diagrams from mastertech01 (all teh wires are counted for) for both vehicles.. so we are good in that wya. I will make sure of teh 2000 focus wiring diagram on friday morning but i think mastertech01 got it.. cause from what i read before the grey plug is also there on the 2000 focus. So its a matter of geting the black plug on.. they yellow one is just a sub out.

OK, here is what I was able to find out. The 2000 Focus came with two radio options, the standard Ford unit and the Sony Edition. The 2003 Focus came with eight radio options, four different units with or without subwoofer. Your vehicle has the standard Ford unit with two connector, the 2003 radio diagrams are not working for me. I am unable to determine which system had three connectors.

I don't think it going to be easy to swap the radios, because the lack of connectors. If the replacement unit has the subwoofer option the speakers are all routed through the subwoofer and splicing the wires won't help because the speaker signal out of the radio will be to weak for your speakers to use.

If you can find out what type of radio the 2003 Focus unit is I might be able to help further.
