I have a 2005 Ford Escape (3.0 DOHC V6 Limited Edition FWD) that has been in a front end collision. I have Identified most of the parts that I need for the repair, but have a feeling that I am missing one. It appears there is a piece that is bent pretty severely and folded up behind the radiator core support on the passenger side. Just looking at it as an automotive ignoramus I would call it an "inner fender support" or something to that effect although I am probably laughably off-base.

So far I know I need the following: radiator core support, hood, passenger side fender/front quarter panel, passenger side headlight. I have all 4 of them in my Ebay shopping cart right now for $480...all parts new and primed, ready to paint.

I was also told that I need a new ECM. What is the best option? http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=2005+ford+escape+ECM&LH_BIN=1&_sop=15&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.X2005+ford+escape+ECM+-chassis&_nkw=2005+ford+escape+ECM+-chassis&_sacat=0

There is a repair and return service for 289 and a used (48k donor car) one for 329.99. My mechanic seems to think it would be plug and play but I know he hasn't had to do too many of these so I am wary of it needing to be programmed.

I would really appreciate any help.

First thoughts: Fender...rad support...bumper support...unibody.

Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like it got whacked a bit too hard to just be a parts swap. By 'unibody,' I'm talking about the part where the strut tower is, which the fender bolts to.

In addition to the parts you listed, assuming the main structure of the car is good- surely the washer jug is cracked. A/C lines look displaced; I'm guessing the condenser ruptured. Any bent metal lines should be replaced. Accumulator might also be on that corner.

Isn't the ECM on the firewall? Why would you need that? As far as whether is requires programmed, I would bet on 'yes.' Ford dealer can tell you.

ok coresupport i would pass on i would try and get that one to bend back out. or else your opening up a whole new can of worms trying to weld one of those in. avg time to change one out book time is 6-12 hours. and that doesnt include the teardown of the front end parts. its gonna be easier for you and save you 80-100 dollars. if you have questions on how to do it please feel free to ask. ive been doing body work for 11 years

besides that i see you need fender, hood, headlight, and fender flare and fender flare clips. if you just trying to do it cheap i would leave the front bumper alone and deal with the small crack and scrape. otherwise replace it. and just be aware that most aftermarket parts dont fit very well. i would search car-part.com and see if you can find parts they may be cheaper. and not to mention they are painted so you dont have to rush to paint them. and if lucky you can find it in black

Are you talking about the plastic fender liner? or the metal inboard from there, that the wire passes through (inner fender)?
