ford escape or honda accord?

I'm thinking of getting a car but can't decide between these two. The ford escape is cheaper and bigger but the honda accord has more of a stronger name and structure. Which to choose?
 
How will you be using it?

Do you NEED the cargo room the Ford Escape offers?

What about the Mazda Tribute instead or a lower-middle end Toyota Highlander/Honda Pilot?
