Forcing Windows Desktop Theme to All Users doesn't work in Windows 7

Hi guys and gals,

I am setting up a test PC for the users in our domain. The PC has Windows 7 Pro 32bit and is on a domain controller. Forcing Windows Classic Theme using gpedit.msc doesn't seem to work. When I login as different user it brings a default Windows 7 theme and not the classic.

Is there something else need to be done on the OS? Am I missing something.

Thanks,

are you changing that on the pc side or the domain side?
you may be changing the wrong setting in the gpo to affect the users, not sure what version of server os you are running, but you could also set it as a per machine setting vs a per user setting

Sorry for the super late reply.

You guys all correct. The problem was on my end. I must had brain fart or something... Enabling the "Force a specific visual style file or force Windows Classic" in Local Group Policy on the PC worked in the first place. The wallpaper Windows 7 provided was different than what you would see on Windows Xp with classic theme (plain light blue / sky blue color). Everything else on the Win7 was indeed classic theme.

Yes, enabling this on GPO on the server side for the domain worked too.

Thanks guys.
