How would one force an IRQ on an MSI 6309? I would like to assign specific IRQs to specific PCI slots (well, the cards in them :) ) I can do this on my BH6, can I do it on the 6309?

I don't think it's really possible, but I haven't had the occasion to try with my own 6309. I know for sure that specific irq's can be reserved for isa cards, sec 3.6 of the manual. I also know that disabling ACPI by selecting "compliance with O/S" as NO in sec 3.5 forces a "normal" irq distribution. I had to do it that way because my vidcard is not acpi compliant. Wouldn't wake up, except from a reboot. Control panel reguired some sorting out, but everything works just fine with APM.

Why do you want to do this? Do you have a card that demands a particular IRQ or set of IRQ's?

I want to put my ethernet card at IRQ 9, 10, or 11. I have found that the LAN performance is much improved with the card at a high IRQ.

You might try checking in control panel to see what irq is assigned to each card in its respective slot, and switch the cards around. Force an update in the bios and see what happens. Might work, and then again it might not be pretty at all.....
