Does anyone know how to force a DHCP server to authorize and give out addresses without doing so in the directory? Is there a reg hack for it or something.
My situation is that I'm trying to build a single 2k3 server on a server blade that hosts the deployment software for the rest of them, but it's not a member of a domain and I can't get the damn thing to start up DHCP. It says I have to authorize it in a domain, but I don't want this server to be on a domain. The bladerack itself holds 20 servers, and while, in the end, most of them will connect to the domain via the WAN, I just want to start off with it being a completely self-contained unit, isloated from any other network.
Any tips?
