Reviews of the Dell Inspiron XPS Gen2 laptops all show using 75.xx revs of Forceware drivers, but I can't get a Forceware driver download to work on my XPS Gen2 other than the Dell provided 72.01. Can someone give me some helpful advice? Please don't tell me Im stuck with OEM drivers from Dell. Pretty please?

Nope, you're not stuck ;) But you can't use NVIDIA original drivers yet.

VXG Drivers -- These are some of the best modded nvidia drivers IMO. Haven't used 'em on a lappy, but they work for laptops as well IIRC and are nicely optimized.

Omega Drivers -- Good ol' Omega drivers! I've never used the NVIDIA ones personally but I'd imagine they work well

I used the modded drivers a bit. I switched back, they were a lil tweakish in SC: Chaos Theory and seemed to run slower.

You can use the original NVidia drivers, you just need a modded INF file so it'll install on your laptop. My i9300 w/ a 6800Go is running the 77.72s right now. Goto LaptopVideo2go and you'll see several driver versions. For the MOST CURRENT one (77.72) visit their nVision Forum and goto the "Release 70's" section. There you'll see a download for the drivers itself, as well as the modded INF file (Pieter's mobile INF modified for v77.72). Have fun! :)
