I'm downloading now.......... but going to work shortly so I'll be testing later

What?s New in Release 169
? Added support for the NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT.
? Added product support for GeForce 8800 GTS 512.
? Added product support for GeForce 8400.
? Added support for 3-way NVIDIA SLITM technology.

sticking with my 169.02 version. tired of nvidia's "beta" drivers thats all they seem to ever release. it gives them a reason to be unstable!

holy shit were on a daily driver release basis now. how many times must I restart my computer god damn it.

edit
nvm vista only. phew.

WTH we went 3 weeks without a new driver! 😉

As long as they don't break RT or any game compatibility, I love the frequent Beta releases since they typically coincide with new games or new parts. I'd much rather have a Beta soon as its out of Q&A rather than wait for it to pass WHQL, or worst, get fewer releases if NV stuck to a strict WHQL standard.

Also pretty sure 169.21 also supports the G92 GTS and is a WHQL candidate. 169.25 probably only added Tri-SLI support, which might not have passed WHQL anyways.

:Q

what are you talking about? in 3 weeks we had 169.09, 169.13, 169.17, 169.21, and the 169.25

most of these are not even posted on the nvidia site as betas, but they are available in the nvidia ftp site. you need to start checking guru3d.com in the drivers section.

Hmm I was going by 169.12 (11/21) to 169.17 (12/8). But ya I don't typically go through guru3d anymore since they used to insist on inserting their logo and other crap into the install packages.

You should read the "read me" file before you say that. The beta drivers now support the new g92 gts cards.

nVidia is all over ATI when it comes to driver releases. It may be a pain in the arse to remove, clean, and reinstall, but it could be the other way around... 😉
