ForceWare 91.31s hard lock clean install of XP64

I just got around to reinstalling Windows x64 on a secondary partition (for the rare times I do want to game). The 91.31 drivers installed fine, then after a reboot, I tried opening the control panel. First, explorer froze (start menu frozen), then Windows froze (the whole thing locked up and required a reset). This is reproducible, and it's on a brand new install of x64 and right after installing the nForce4 network and SMBus drivers. Surely I can't be the only one with this problem, or am I? I also noticed that it said, each reboot, that I had unplugged one of my SLI cards, when I really only have one 7800GT. What's up with these drivers? Is there a way to get the classic control panel back?

Edit: I'm speaking of the NVIDIA ForceWare Control Panel. The Windows control panel is fine.

Does everything work fine if you substitue the 91.xx drivers with 84.xx drivers?

I found a fix to hide the balloon but it doesn't sound like it fixes anything "underneath the skin", so to speak. I'll give the 84.xx drivers a try. Am I missing much by not using the 91.xx? I haven't been keeping up with the Windows drivers lately.

The 84.xx drivers are fine. I'll just use these until they fix their 91.xx ones since other people are apparently having the SLI problem.
