Hey Guys,

Does anyone know when the Forceware 80 Drivers are being released? I know there is a Leaked Beta but it was Stated by nVidia that the performance boost that occurs just from installing the Forceware 80 Drivers will in the area of 20-30% (For AMD Dual Core Owners). :Q
This is due to nvidia rewriting the code to how the GPU talks to the 2 CPUs (Apparently)

Has Anyone seen this in the Beta drivers, the only thing i got from those drivers was shadowing errors in BF2, so i reverted back to 77.72.

Any Info or Comments Appreciated.
Cheers
Ben

I wouldn't judge the ForceWare 80 drivers by old BETAs. Not saying that they will bring that much more performance, but I think that concluding that it was 'bull' is a bit premature.

I am talking nVidia Released Drivers not leaked or beta drivers.
Although i will try the 81.26 betas McArra Mentions

Yeah nVidia said this 20-30% improvement would be apparent in the Released 80 drivers. Do i need to be running Windows x64 to get the improvement out of them cause my wifi dosen't have drivers for it yet etc.

Nope, they are 32bit only this time. Official ones will have 32 and 64bits variant ;)

Yes, I know but that's what I'm running...I'm not using the 77.77's so why would I say anything about them. Who cares if they're the same. (except for 6500 support)
I dunno, maybe I should have said 77.77 or 78.01's work best for me but that's more of a mouth full isn't it...;)

20% performance increase
We can only hope....

from posts on guru3d, it seems the 81.26(i think) in beta forum has many many bugs but 7800 cards got 10-40fps boost in certian gaines. But in 3dmark IQ and Aquamark IQ they recieved alot less points (not sure how these test are done), for example the talbe i seen doom3 went from 73->107 lol. most other games got 10fps.

Here is the link

They were using a DualCore machine... but i wish they would have test non-Dualcore so we could see if it was due it or not.

my single core with a 6800gt seems to run 81.26 fine

peformance seems similar to earlier drivers

i still get these weird visual bugs in the original need for speed underground, even at stock

I installed the 81.26 drivers recently because I was curious if NV fixed the AF shimmering issue with these drivers. They run fine for me, but AF shimmering is still present in WoW, even in High Quality mode with all optimizations set to "off".

The Performance increase nvidia was talking about only applies to systems with a Dual Core AMD and a 7800gt or gtx.
As they re-wrote the driver to change the way the video card retrieves and sends data to the processors.
