I set up my new computer and DLed the new forceware beta driver and the highest resolution was 1600x900 (16:9) but my monitor the dell 2005fpw is 1680x1050 (16:10) and the screen was all screwey. It took me a darn while to go back to the dell website and DL the older version. Anyone know if the new forceware increases performance? Anyone know how to fix the resolution?

Specs:
3.2Ghz 530
1gig RAM
Geforce 6800 GTO
Dell 2005fpw

I thought this beta just fixed a bug in some very specific situation or something? I know it wasn't a major change. I'm still using the 66.93 here and it has 1680x1050 and seems fast enough.

Yeah, maybe I wasn't helpful...just saying what I'm using.

You would imagine that I would go and download 66.93 if the beta didn't work right? Well that's exactly what I did, and I STILL had the same problem! It would once again show 1600x900 as the max resolution!

Did you install the 2005 monitor info file? Or are you just letting Windows call it a plug and play monitor?

Maybe try drivercleaner and reinstall 66.93 if that doesn't help?

Hmmm...I just assumed that Dell installed the monitor info file by default...

Where do I get the monitor info file?

btw, on the 66.93, I can -only- run 1680x1050 in 16:10. If I plug this same monitor into my laptop, I also have a few lower res options like 1280x768.

HL2 won't run at all, I get horrible stutter and then it crashes to desktop hard on my 6800.
