Spotted this on Futuremark forums:

NVIDIA has a new driver for the GeForce 6800 series -- version 61.11. Compared to the 60.72 driver, this new driver features:

Around 5% boost in Aquamark
Around 5% boost in X2 performance
Around 5% boost in Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness performance
Around 10% boost to Call of Duty performance
Over 20% improvement in Far Cry performance (fixed a z cull bug)

Download

Don't know if the speed boosts are only for 6800U..

Known 61.11 driver bugs:

117597 [TWIMTBP]NV40,WinXP: Corruption when trying to take a screenshot with AA enabeld in Far Cry.

117561 [TWIMTBP]NV38/40,WinXP: Corruption of some weapons in Far Cry.

117474 [TWIMTBP]NV40,WinXP: Fog broke in Far Cry.

113476 NV38/40-WinXP: Lighting/shadow problem in FarCry.

117575 [TWIMTBP] NV40/38: Banding visible from wall in FarCry.

But hey, at least it gets great frames.

Not like I care - the game's crap and I won't be playing it any time soon.

That's amazing that you know the game is crap without having played it, cause I played through the entire game and apparently still came to the wrong conclusion that I really enjoyed it.

I have the game too... best $30 I've spent on a game in a LONG time.

Before everyone starts jumping down nVidia's throat, remember that these are not official releases of the driver🙂 One hopes that the Far Cry errors are fixed by the next official release.

BUT IT RUNS DX9 GRAPHICS!!! LOOK AT THE BEAUTIFUL WATER! (the water is actually DX8.1)

It also performs slower in soem games according to some benchmarks. Can't cite specific examples, but I know I saw it somewhere 😉
It makes some games faster and others seem to be slower. It might have been at a dodgy review site though.
