Yeah that was a bit of a surprise. However I think that the big news here is that the new drivers add OpenGL 3.0 support for so many cards, desktop and notebook alike. This undoubtedly adds some more value to those cards.

I always disable that thing right away when I get a new driver. I don't need more clutter in the taskbar.

Usually it will take only a few days for nV to ?release? an already "leaked" driver but who knows.

These aren't on the NVIDIA site, so they're leaked right? Can anyone post the results of these?

Well I DO use it frequently when switching between my monitor and HDTV.

There's no excuse for it not to be there in Vista , it SHOULD be an option.

ATI have managed it, why not Nvidia? :disgust:

So, who has tried them?

I've been using them since yesterday and so far everything seems to work fine.

!?! I was under the impression that their latest was the 180.84. nV seems to be releasing/leaking new drivers every single day.

WTF?

Is it just me, or are Quadro drivers INTEGRATED to the GeForce bundle? That's new. And practical.

These 181.00 betas are very good. The 180.84 betas gave me BSOD all over the place. That's why nVidia made the 181.00's so quickly IMHO.:)

The 181.00 are indeed quite stable but it's more likely that the real reason behind them is the upcoming GTX295. If so expect a WHQL driver around Jan 8.

Will the WHQL include the 8600 gts 256 meg? Hoping for a newer driver for my card :-(

Since the betas support your card I'd expect the WHQL to do so too. Anyways with the GTX295 just around the corner we'll find out soon.
