Did you try the 100.95 release?
Yes - they were the same but because the installer doesn't work you don't get the control panel.

You also have to remove them manually.

i made this thread then later everytime i saw it i figured it must be a joke. only today did i figure i'll open it and viola it has my name on the OP
LOL!

Just curious if you guys expect Nvidia to do anything with their non-8800 drivers -- those seem to be stuck in last year.

I tried these and wounded up going back to the current reference drivers. Although stable, I got graphical anomalies with STALKER with all settings at MAX.

Most people find these to be excellent STALKER drivers. I'd make sure your rig doesn't have unresolved issues elsewhere.

No, it's the drivers. The graphical glitches occur whenever I'm in an outdoor scene where it starts to rain. Reverting back to 97.92 corrects the problem.

Same here - I get no crosshair either. The "excellent Stalker drivers" everyone refers to are actually 97.94 which are nothing more than 97.92 + Stalker hotfix.

Well, in the absence of my own g80 (I've decided to wait and see what nvidia's counter r600 move is -- I originally thought I'd wait out g80 if you remember back to the launch) I can only go by what others post in other forums, and at the time I posted the comment people were impressed with the STALKER performance.

So, how do these compare to the 100.95 drivers???

I'm currently running the XTreme-G 100.95 driver and just noticed that the XG101.02 was released and I'm wondering if I should make the upgrade???

I think regardless I'll be upgrading to these since it's always nice to get my hands on a new 8800 driver :p

Edit:
Don't forget about the XTreme-G Version.

And everyone, as a PSA, please (un)install your drivers the right way.

ChrisRay has a few words to say about upcoming drivers Text
A recent conversation with Nvidia gave me a look at their bug lists and bug fixes. And the new drivers due very soon are looking very promising from a bug fix perspective.

Sadly it appears he's only talking about Vista.

I can't believe it took nVidia three months to release a new official XP driver and after all that time all they did was mostly fix Stalker (I say mostly because there are still artifacts and crosshair problems with 97.94, just less than with 101.02).

For a card that has been out for almost six months that really is shocking driver support.
