Forced to play single-player...what's a good game?

My home internet connection is all screwy and now I am forced to play single player games. I can't download any demos so I'm pretty much going on word of mouth. I've finished COD and Jedi Academy and looking for something else. KOTOR got lots of good reviews and Morrowind sounds kind of fun, but elf wizard style RPGs seem corny to me for the most part. What's out now that totally rocks?

I played KOTOR religiously twice. Pretty fun game. Good for many hours of entertainment.

COD or Max Payne 2 are very good Single player games, but they are a little short.

KOTOR is an excellent choice. engrossing, fun and is pretty long(by today's standards anyway). 20-40 hours (30+ hours is average for 1st time). you probably want to play more than once too.

You know, did light side and dark side. Dark side is pretty entertaining. :D

Of course, I haven't touched it since.

Yeah, same here. Dark side is very fun; great game.

OP: I assume you've played Halo and MOHAA. Another very good game is Sacrifice, or if you want to play a chess-like turn based war game, Massive Assault is a great game.

Anachronox!!! Man this game may be Quake 2 stylie engine but it's plain beautiful and the gameplay is great. All of the characters have their funny moments and there are some really weird things you need to do in this game. Anyway, contact DerwenArtos12, he might be willing to sell it to you if you can't find it from a good vendor.

KOTOR RULES. I've played em ALL, and KOTOR is the best game I played in years. Morrowind is also a good game.

Sounds like I'll have to pick up KOTOR. Anyone know a good place to find this game cheap? Pricegrabber has it at $39, can I do better?

That game looked interesting. The concept seemed much like a game I really liked called Escape Velocity back when I had a power mac.
