Force XP to display a CPU speed?

A friend is programming a game and running into a problem with XP. For some reason, it works on his development machine 2.26GHz P4, but won't work on any machines that are below 2GHz (It was supposed to be 1GHz). Someone else started programming the game and apparently he programmed a break into the code that won't allow it to run on lower MHz machines.

Anyone know a registry entry I can edit, that will force XP to display a certain CPU speed??

... do not go gentle into that good night....

hehehe, sorry, i couldn't resist. dylan thomas, good poet. bump for ya. i know that the program wCPUid is able to see the CPU id, the multiplier, the FSB, and the total clockspeed.

Well I need to specify the speed rather than identify it. If you look under the System Control Panel in XP, it displayed the CPU model and speed. Right now Windows won't run the game if this reading it lower than 2GHz.
