Some friends I haven't seen in years brought me a microSD card from a Nintendo DS flash card which clearly has corrupted file and folder names, though most of the contents seem intact. I backed everything up and then ran a checkdisk on it, being sure to uncheck the "automatically fix file system errors" option. Even so, it came back saying that it fixed all kinds of things (grr...). Non-zero folder sizes, invalid first allocation units, etc.
Anyway, partially out of curiosity and partially to avoid searching for English hacked Chinese system software for a freshly formatted filesystem (don't ask), I'd like to see if the rest of the contents could be restored by switching to the second, presumably uncorrupted, FAT that I recall all FAT file systems have. What utility can do this? Is it too late if it truly did make changes (I assume it would change both)? It may just be a improperly worded dialog ("Some problems were found and fixed...") because it says a lot of the same things each time I run it, though I don't see the files with the crazy ASCII shape names anymore.

Checking Disk Removable Disk (D:)
[Main Instruction]
Some problems were found and fixed
[Content]
Any files that were affected by these problems were moved to a folder named "Found" on the device or disk. Your device or disk is now ready to use.
If you removed the device or disk before all files were fully written to it, parts of some files might still be missing. If so, go back to the source and recopy those files to your device or disk.
