Force Generic CPU bug?

Simulat

Have been noticing that whenever I use NvMax or RivaTuner the OpenGL command "Disable support for enchnaced instruction set" is turned on. When I check the Nvidia control panel, I dont have it checked. Found the relevant registry setting ("ForceGenericCPU&quot😉 and noticed its dword value was set at 1 meaning it was on/disabled. Turned it off using RivaTuner and it went to 0. Went back to the Nvidia control panel and clicked to disable it and the setting went to 1 again - but when I clicked to turn it off it stayed at 1. Must be a bug in the Nvidia drivers that doesnt allow you to turn it off. Im using the 11.01 drivers but I remember noticing it before when testing other drivers.

Option is supposed to ignored advanced instructions such as MMX/SSE/3dnow. Wonder if this bug is causing any type of performance hit in OpenGL apps.

Yes - I believe it's turned off for the 1xxx drivers. From what I've seen Quake 3 has a small performance hit but my other OpenGL games are running with video card limiting settings so there's no hit.
