Force Feedback Joystick - Can You Turn The "Force" Off?

I'm planning to purchase a joystick to use with MSFS2K. I've read alot on the boards here and am torn between getting force feedback or not. Is it possible to get a ff model (MS or Logitech) and turn off the ff if you don't like it?

Yes, you can very easily turn it off in most games or turn it off in the gaming options in the control panel. You will love FF though.
