Force feedback Head Phones not working?

I just got these FF head phones today and from the reviews I read, these things are supposed to sound amazing for games. I just used them and honestly, I am really not that impressed. I have a logitech THX 5.1 surround sound system hooked up already, but I use these for gaming later at night. Maybe I am not hooking them up right? I have the pink into the back of my comp in the pink slot, the USB into the USB of my computer, but the orange one is what gets me. When I plug it into the orange slot in the back of my computer, nothing happens. So i plugged it into the head phone jack in the controller for my THX system. Is there a dif. way to configure this so this sounds better or is what I did okay, and this head set just sucks?

What did you set your pc to output?

Chances are it was set to stereo and therefore the subwoofer signal was dormant and giving you no force feedback

Pink is just a mic I believe?

When you plug anything into the controller head phone jack, it goes right to that output. Normally I have it set to direct 6 channel "PLII Music". Even when I unplug the orange cable of my speakers while music is playing, nothing changes. The main outputs are the 6 channel direct, stereo, optical, coax. I know I am probably doing something wrong, because the product claims " It's like a home theater in your head!" which it def. does not sound like.

What you have to do is disable automatic switching that your soundcard is doing, because it disabled 6 channel when you plugged the headphones in, but what you want is more along the lines of 2.1
