More nonsense from Microsoft the NSA right hand. More limiting your control of the apps and system that you paid for(its the same key you used to buy their OS(7 or 8))

I dislike Windows 10’s forced updates. It’s very simple: updates should be automatic, but the option to disable individual patches should exist if a buggy one is released like – say – this one or this one or this one, all in the last two weeks. But Microsoft MSFT -0.06% clearly does not agree, because Windows 10’s forced updates just got scarier…Credit for the spot goes to this thread on Microsoft’s Community website which makes the observation: Windows 10 is not just forcing feature, driver and security updates on users anymore, it is removing user control over Windows Store app updates as well.

Why are you creating yet another thread on yet the same topic that already has multiple threads that has been beaten to death

Well people like my dad, who never run windows update on their own accord, are the reason for the change. Not only that, in most households with multiple pc's it doesn't make sense to have each one dl updates one after the other when one already has them let it dispense to the rest on the network reducing congestion at MS.

This is funny.

Wolfpup3, i have to contradict you here - in relation with the store apps, not the Auto update function in Windows itself.

The App auto-update updates third Party apps too and not only security updates.

Example:

I have the full Version of "the treasures of montezuma" (preinstalled with my acer book). With the Auto update i get a new Version - and this Version decreases my full Version to a Test Version. To unlock the Test Version i have to pay again. Otherwhile i can´t use the game anymore respectively only with restrictions.

It couldn´t be that MSFT updates automaticly third Party apps in order for the developers. It is not the best for the users to pay for third Party apps - only on the Basis of the App auto-update - again and again.

In my case ca. 200 apps (games, Comics etc.) got meanwhile updates only with new Features (i didn´t Need) and new costs if i update. Windows 10 updates this apps - full function till yet - automatic to Test Versions. This is a "no go" and that is coercion.

You can disable the app Auto-Update in registry, but if you search (only search) for new updates in store, the automatic process continued.

All of this is not in the interest of the consumers and must be stopped.

So Windows 10 Home users can get their apps automatically updated to new versions which are in trial mode until you pay again. I would say "priceless" but then again every app has a price (maybe more times than one cares for.)
